About the music

Khandaker Rahin is the name I use for music. My professional name is Shaker Mahmud Khandaker; under it I work as a software engineer and researcher at FBK in Trento.

I compose and arrange, mostly at the piano, and build the rest of the sound in the studio with strings and sampled instruments. Some pieces are finished works, some are experiments with texture and instrumentation. I also work in three music projects, each with its own releases: Wind of Bliss, which I founded, built around wind instruments; Elysian Winds, Iftekharul Anam's instrumental project, where I have production credits on more than 60 tracks; and Wind of Strings, where I composed and directed Towards the Beloved, a piece for Persian tar.

A note I wrote years ago

As a child, I often pondered whether our universe, life on Earth, and everything we perceive might just be a simulation. … Now, as an aspiring “architect” of the future, I compose solutions that harmonize technology and humanity, aiming to create a world where suffering is merely a chapter in a storybook, something we read about while savoring a cup of coffee.

Outside the studio

Chess (I play on Chess.com), cycling, robotics, and a lot of coffee.
